SLIO – Yaskawa’s modular, compact and intelligent I/O system
09 July 2024

Gemamex presents a modular and compact control solution from its key partner Yaskawa – the intelligent I/O system SLIO.
The platform can be universally combined and implemented in combination with all proven products from the Japanese manufacturer’s range, as well as with most popular products of other brands from the global ecosystem in the industrial automation segment.
SLIO enables the implementation of automation solutions for practically any application, and it is significantly easier and more cost-effective compared to previous possibilities.
The intelligent I/O system is among the most efficient and flexible decentralized I/O platforms on the market. It combines advanced functionality with an innovative mechanical concept for connecting the modules in an extremely compact design.
A new standard in automation
SLIO stands for “Slice Input and Output” – Yaskawa’s innovative input-output connection technology. The system allows maximum adaptation to the needs of each specific application with a wide range of interface modules – Profinet, Profibus, EtherCAT, CANopen, EtherNet/IP, Mexhatrolink-III and Modbus TCP.
Processor and interface I/O modules support connection to up to 64 electronic modules via the “SLIO backplane bus”. Each module consists of contact plates, with the help of which they are connected to each other by a safe “slide-and-lock” mechanism.
The integrated LED indicators for status monitoring and user-friendly marking strips on the front of the module housings ensure correct channel setting and reliable status reading.
The innovative “SLIO backplane bus” concept with a speed of up to 48 Mbit/s ensures extremely short response times. With SLIO Controllers, the I/O system becomes an advanced platform for decentralized management, and with the introduction (SetCards) it allows the user to quickly and easily configure the appropriate Controller.
In addition to the extended working memory, you can also choose between different field connectivity (Ethernet, RS)

Leading benefits
